The Washington D.C. gay village is traditionally in Dupont Circle, where as always happens, we took an area that was in decline and turned it into a trendy, fashionable, expensive neighborhood. In recent years, we have started to expanded into Logan Circle immediately to its east and again, are applying a makeover to that area.
D.C.’s first gay bookstore, Lambda Rising, opened in 1974. The store ran the world’s first gay-oriented television commercial.
